Real estate drone photography from $179, flown by a Part 107 pilot

Aerial Photos for $179, Aerial Video for $299 or the Listing Bundle for $349, each at one fixed price. A verified Part 107 pilot based near the property accepts your job, flies the published shot list, and your edited files land on a private page within 48 hours of the flight.

You pay only after a pilot accepts. We open city by city.

What is real estate drone photography?

Real estate drone photography is a set of aerial stills of a house or lot, taken from 50 to 400 feet by a licensed remote pilot. It shows the roof, the lot lines, the backyard and the street in one frame, which no ground photo can. Because it is paid work, US law requires an FAA Part 107 pilot.

Who orders it

Listing agents and brokerages ordering media for a new listing. Builders showing a lot and what surrounds it. Owners selling on their own. Property managers and investors who want to see a property they cannot visit. In the National Association of Realtors 2025 Technology Survey, released in September 2025, 52% of Realtors said they use drone photography or video, up from 35% the year before.

Who flies it

Every Astral Pic job is flown by a pilot who showed us a current FAA Part 107 certificate, the FAA registration label on their drone and a liability insurance certificate of at least $1 million before they could accept a job. A person checked each one. The pilot is based near the property, inside the radius they set, 10 to 50 miles from their base.

What it is not

It is not a ground photo shoot, a floor plan or a virtual tour. If you need those too, book your usual photographer for the interior and a pilot here for the air. Both can happen on the same day.

What do the three packages include?

Three fixed packages cover a listing. Aerial Photos gives 12 to 15 edited stills, Aerial Video a 60 to 90 second edited 4K clip plus 5 stills, and the Listing Bundle both. Every pilot flies the same shot list, printed below, so you know what you will get before you book. The pilot payout is printed next to each price.

What do you receive, and when?

Edited files arrive on a private page within 48 hours of the flight. Only you, your pilot and Astral Pic staff can open it. You then have 48 hours to approve the delivery or ask for one round of changes; if you say nothing, it is approved and your pilot is paid. You can share every file with your brokerage and the MLS.

The files

Stills and video as plain files you can download one by one or all at once. The pilot uploads within 24 hours of the flight. Nothing is watermarked. Download your copies; the page is for delivery, not long-term storage.

Who owns them

The pilot owns the copyright. Once payment is confirmed and you approve the delivery, you hold a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, edit and publish the files to market, sell, lease, finance, insure, inspect, repair, build or document the property, including sharing them with agents, brokers, MLS services, contractors and insurers. The pilot may show the work in a portfolio without the address. Astral Pic shows a delivery as a sample only when you tick the consent box. Read the footage license.

If something is wrong

Ask for changes once, within 48 hours of delivery, with a short note on what to fix. The pilot re-edits or, if the shot could not be taken without another flight, says so, and you can talk it through in the job messages. When the pilot delivers again, a new 48-hour window starts and you approve; your pilot is then paid within 7 days. If something is seriously wrong, email help@astralpic.com with the job id before the window closes. Read the approval terms.

When can the pilot fly?

Daylight only, up to 400 feet above the ground, with at least 3 miles of visibility, no rain, no sustained wind over 20 mph and no flight restriction over the address. Near a major airport or a Class D airport the pilot gets LAANC authorization first, usually in minutes. The pilot decides whether it is safe and legal to fly.

The rules behind that

The 400 foot ceiling and the 3 mile visibility rule come from FAA regulation 14 CFR 107.51. The rain, wind and temporary flight restriction limits are ours, written into the weather policy.

Controlled airspace

Much of any large metro sits under Class B, C or D airspace around its airports. The FAA's LAANC system gives near-real-time authorization at 726 airports (FAA LAANC page, updated September 29, 2026, as read in our October 2026 regulatory notes). Where the FAA facility map ceiling is low, the pilot files a further coordination request at least 72 hours ahead, so give a window of three days or more. We flag likely controlled airspace when you type the address.

If the weather turns

If your pilot calls it off for weather or airspace you pay nothing extra and you pick a new window within 14 days. Your pilot will not fly over neighboring homes, film interiors through windows or film identifiable people beyond the job.

How does booking work?

Booking takes about two minutes. You pick a package, type the address and a window of days, and confirm a few facts about the property. A verified pilot based nearby accepts, and only then do you pay, through a Stripe payment page. The pilot flies inside your window, uploads the files, and is paid after you approve them.

  1. Pick a package

Aerial Photos, Aerial Video or the Listing Bundle. The price, the pilot payout and the shot list are printed next to each package.

  2. Give the address and a window

Type the address and press Find this address. Choose the property type, add access notes and a phone number for the pilot, and pick an earliest and latest day up to 14 days apart. We flag likely controlled airspace.

  3. A pilot accepts, then you pay

A verified pilot near the property accepts your job. You then pay through a Stripe payment page. A person at Astral Pic confirms the payment, usually within a few hours, and the pilot does not fly before that.

  4. Flight, files, approval

Your pilot calls the day before and flies in daylight inside your window. Files reach your private page within 48 hours. Approve them, or ask for one round of changes, within 48 hours. Your pilot is paid within 7 days of approval.

Cancel free until 5 pm the day before your window starts. If no pilot accepts by the end of your window, you were never charged. Cancellation policy.

How do our prices compare?

Our prices sit inside the published US range for listing aerials. HomeJab's 2025 pricing guide lists stand-alone drone photo packages from $249 and drone photos plus video at $249 to $499. Thumbtack's 2025 marketplace data puts aerial photography at $125 an hour on average. Astral Pic charges $179 for photos and $349 for photos and video.

What the price includes

Each price includes a 20% platform fee. The rest is the pilot's payout, paid within 7 days of your approval. On the $179 package the fee is $36 and the pilot earns $143; the payout for each package is printed in the table above. No travel fees, no rush fees, no add-ons, and the pilot does not set the price.

Where the figures come from

The published ranges above were read in October 2026 and are listed with their sources in the real estate drone photography cost guide. The full menu, including quoted jobs, is on the pricing page.

Questions agents ask

The short version: you do not need to be there, most of the metro is flyable after a quick FAA authorization, and your brokerage can use every file. The details are below. If your question is about one specific address, book the job and put the question in the notes for the pilot, who reads them before accepting.

Do I need to be at the property?

No. Put the gate code, lockbox or who to call in the access notes, and the pilot calls the phone number you gave the day before. The pilot launches from the lot, or from public land with permission, keeps the camera on the subject property and does not film interiors or neighboring homes. If someone lives there, tell them before the flight; you confirm that when you book.

What if the home is near DFW or Love Field?

Both airports are LAANC-enabled, so the pilot usually gets FAA authorization in minutes. Where the facility map ceiling is low, the pilot needs a further coordination request filed at least 72 hours ahead, so give a window of three days or more. We show a likely-airspace note when you type the address. The pilot's authorization is the final word, and if it cannot be granted in time you pay nothing extra.

Can my brokerage and the MLS use the photos?

Yes. Once payment is confirmed and you approve the delivery, you hold a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, edit and publish the files to market, sell, lease, finance, insure, inspect, repair, build or document that property, including sharing them with agents, brokers, MLS services, contractors and insurers. The pilot keeps the copyright and may show the work in a portfolio without the address.
